Christmas Eve & Christmas

So getting ready for the Christmas season, included a lot of late nights and retreats full of sewing. These are but a few of the things that were made. The biggest and longest projects included the quilts. It was fun but like I said last year "I will start a lot earlier this next year"  I really mean it though! hahaha

So I decided to make some colored pencil rolls for Jarrin and Keeley and a crayon roll for Sawyer.

Jarrin got a "fishing" theme quilt. Every time we went to the store he begged me to get the fish patterned fabric for him and every time I had to tell him "not this time" So I knew his quilt would be a success as far as him liking the fabric.
I went ahead and made a bunch of drawstring bags for them to put "treasures" in, which of course went with the treasure chest we bought them that  they have all been dying for. I snatched up the last of them with some 50%  coupons. {I was all about making it as inexpensive as possible}

Sawyer got his first church bag so he could put all his new color wonder supplies in and his car mat that I made him.

Keeley got a butterfly quilt. She had been wanting butterfly fabric so make something with for a long time so I also knew she would love her quilt{thankfully} Those quilts are so lovely when they are done, but MAN they take some time to get done. Well worth it. brad kept saying "you're not doing this every year right?"
Well, we'll see. I'll start much earlier ;) hehehe. We'll see. I do find that procrastination on projects gets it done faster and better. I guess I work well under pressure.
Sawyer's quilt had little dragonflies on it. His was the easiest {of course} since it was less than half the size.
I decided to make these for my Mother in Law, sister, and for My Grandma in law since they usually gets necklaces and bracelets for presents from me. The least I could do is help them find another place to hang them. They were running out of space on their other jewelery holders.
So we did lots of fun things on Christmas Eve, dancing, singing, baking and Keeley started dressing Sariah up with all the clips and barrettes that I had in my cubby. She loved it!

Sawyer decided to lay under the tree and wait for Santa to come.
He also LOVED helping with the chocolate cookies. Licking the beaters was,of course, his favorite and it was too cute not to take pictures of!

So one of our traditions on Christmas Eve is to open 2 presents and they are the same every year.  new ornament for everyone and new jammies for Christmas night and Christmas Day. I couldn't help but get "Leg lamp" for Brad. He loves that movie and he always laughs when he sees the leg lamp. Keeley had quite a pose!
The kids and their jammies. I love how you can see so much of their individual personalities based on the way they posed for this picture. Love it.
Then to let out some excited energy, they jumped off the couch and were being downright silly. Jarrin caught Keeley right after she started to walk off the couch and I snapped catching her expression on both faces. It was great!

Sawyer thought it was all so fun and goofy!
He had to cover his mouth as he was hysterical.
Finally all were in bed after our "Jesus" stories and chats. Then the  presents showed up and we went to bed.
Jarrin woke up around 4am!! He was so excited and we heard "thump, thump thump" up and down the stairs and then he grabbed the flashlight from his stocking and then we saw the shadow of the tree on the wall. I quickly said 'Brad grab something, There's someone in the house trying to take all the presents" Jarrin quickly said "NO, NO, it's just me" and then came in to show us the flashlight he got. We told him he needed to go back upstairs and wait for light outside to get up.
Jarrin didn't go back to sleep though, he was too excited. Brad and I finally passed out from exhaustion. When we got up, around 8 am, ALL the presents were organized into piles for who they belonged to! Which made for a really big and confusing mess : )

So there we began , the unwrapping of all the gifts!
Oh and I made pillows for them to match their quilts.
Sawyer's expression is so cute.
Jarrin in his excitement THREW his clothes I made him up in the air, so naturally Keeley thought it would be fun to follow.
The best {and inexpensive} toy for Sawyer. His hands are already in it making the shape.

Brad got some Under Armor for hunting.  He was super happy. He made the silly face so I put it up. I always warn him :)
These are gifts from their Auntie Sariah. She got them each a little toy and an outfit. What a great Auntie she is! They adore her! They also go soe movies and popcorn containers from Auntie Naomi and Uncle Dan, which they loved to!!

You can tell Jarrin had been wanting this for a long time. He loves cool rocks and crystals and always is digging in our driveway for new ones. So now he can make his own.
Keeley and her weaving set.
This is one of the dresses that I made for her. I still have 1 decorative clasp to put on the front but it works and no one would ever know.
Sawyer was super excited to get the candy stick from Sariah! I think he ate most of his candy before he opened presents{which is why he only got a few pieces.I planned on that happening}

~ CHRISTMAS AT  NANA AND PAPA BROWN'S ~

Jarrin loves whoopee cushions! He had to play with that a few times before moving on!
My kids love clothes and food. So shopping for things are easy! They are not huge toy kids EXCEPT Playmobile toys. So they got them Nutella and Agave Syrup to put on food. They thought that was the best thing ever!! Sawyer got candy and really wanted everyone to know how excited he was!
Oh...the remote control tarantula Jarrin had been asking for for the past 3 years. A little thrilled as you can see. Our ears were practically bleeding after presents at our house and now they were at Nana and Papa's!
The candy cane full of candy again.
Clothes and more clothes! The seriously LOVE getting clothes. They don't throw them aside, they really look and even try them on right away!
Jarrin got his new Iron Lion sweatshirt for his Jiu Jitsu team.
Finding a toy for Sawyer is hard. Like I said, my kids don't really play with toys a lot, but Sawyer loves his airport play set and dump truck and plays with them a lot!

You can just hear the shrieking going on with her mouth and my poor Mom in Laws expression. She was super thrilled about her playmobile take along castle!
They got Zhu Zhu and Kung Zhu pets from Great Grandma. They love them, but they better NEVER get one of those again! Eek!!

Rita is always so sweet and gets something for my sis Sariah. So she got truffles and a new scarf.
Jarrin and Keeley painted some super cute birdhouses for us for Christmas too. I can't wait to put them up and see what makes a home in them!
Got to love Playmobile!
Pillow Pets. They all got one, but who didn't this Christmas??
Clothes !! YAY!!
The Tarantula.....The entertainment of the night. There are raccoons that come onto the back porch to eat most every night. We put the spider on there and waited and then let it loose toward them. It was funny.
Have no fear though. The raccoons came back soon after. Jarrin was nice enough to even let Sawyer play with it.
It was such a great time! I got to see Sariah, and Auda came and visited and Tekara got to stay with us for a bit! We all loved having them over and now my kids REALLY miss them. We didn't get to do much as far as playing around town with the prework for Christmas and then getting snowed in, but it was fun none the less! We watched some great movies and laid and danced around and enjoyed every bit of it!! Thanks to all my friends and family for making it such a wonderful time of the year and for the beautiful and great gifts that were given!!!
